Hi there, Dyan here (The Health Coach Is In) to tell you that just because sugar ain't good for ya, doesn't mean you have to kiss your sweet tooth goodbye, forever!

We've all heard that too much highly processed, refined sugar (aka: white death) can have devastating effects on our metabolism and contribute to all sorts of diseases.

     1) Refined sugar equals tons of calories with no essential nutrients. All it does is cause tooth decay by literally feeding harmful bacteria in your mouth!

     2) If you eat high quantities of refined processed sugar and don't exercise (you are at risk) from the fructose derived from the excess of sugar, to get lodged in your liver and cause non-alcoholic fatty liver disease.

     3) When you consume too much refined sugar, it can cause resistance to the hormone insulin, which can lead to diseases like obesity and type 2 diabetes.

     4) An excess amount of processed sugar can have a devastating effect on your metabolism.

     5) Processed sugar is highly addictive because after ingestion it causes a huge release of dopamine (the feel good hormone) into your brain.

     6) Refined sugar is a major contributor to heart disease, which is the number one killer in the world.

     7) It was discovered in 1919, that the average healthy digestive system could only digest and eliminate 4-6 teaspoons of refined sugar, daily. Today: There are 9tsp of refined sugar in just one can of soda!

So start moving away from refined sugar with some healthier alternative sweeteners that won't damage your health as much and taste just as sweet, if not sweeter!

So What Are Some Of The High Quality Sweet

Alternatives To Processed Sugar?

Produced from the leaves of the Mexican succulent plant. It lowers the glycemic index more than refined sugar does. Make sure to buy organic agave.

THINK BEES...BEES...BEES. Buy raw, local and organic honey. Can help boost immune system, help seasonal allergies and soothe a raspy sore throat.

Produced from the sub-tropical fruit native to South America. Sweet, maple flavor. It can help boost immune system. Has no effect on blood sugar and contains nutrients, like phosphorus, calcium, iron and magnesium.

Also known as 'Lo Han Gou.' Made from a green melon that grows in the mountain tops of Asia. Buy pure monk fruit or pure Lo Han Gou sweetener. Non Caloric, no impact on blood sugar and may be anti-inflammatory.

A plant used by the Guarani people of South America for more than 1500 years. No calories, no impact on blood sugar and may reduce blood pressure. Make sure to buy 100% whole leaf stevia. Look for RebA and non-GMO.

Made from the sap of sugar from red and black maple trees. Buy organic pure grade-B maple syrup. It has a lower fructose content and more nutrients (antioxidants, magnesium, zinc, potassium) than refined sugar, but don't be fooled, it's still similar to processed sugar, so use sparingly.

A sugar alcohol that is neither sugar nor alcohol, but is actually an organic compound. About the same sweetness as refined sugar. Comes from a non-GMO plant source. Low in calories and no effect on blood sugars and fights bacteria in your mouth.

Also a sugar alcohol like Xylitol. About 70% as sweet as refined sugar. Look for 100% Erythritol. Nearly non caloric, doesn't spike blood sugar and is easily digested.
