Hello, Dyan here (The Health Coach Is In) to help you plan out your menu this holiday season and throughout the rest of the New Year.

Let’s face it.

You’re a busy person, especially during the holidays and the thought of having to plan out your meals may just feel like one more chore to add to your already long list of things to do.

I know.

To be honest it hasn’t always been my all-time favorite thing to do either.

But what I found out, is taking the time to plan for meals, each week, and writing out a grocery list, means that I ultimately save TIME, MONEY and I don't Overeat. And all that means less STRESS!

Menu planning saves time, because first you know what’s for dinner and you won’t have to run to the grocery store so often.

It saves money, because eating out or ordering in take-out is so much more expensive than preparing meals at home.

Finally planning meals reduces stress because you won’t have to rack your brain, at the last minute, to figure out the age old question….what’s for dinner?

It's time to get organized, especially during the holiday season. Think about what would be the easiest meals to make on the nights when you have a lot of activities going on with you or your family, like something handy dandy like a slow cooker or a pressure cooker. Or double a recipe and have it ready to reheat on those busy nights.

There's a great 'App' you can use on your smartphone for your grocery list called OUR GROCERIES that can be very helpful.

If you would like some pre-planned meals to help you out during the holidays, perhaps you would like a service that sends you a week’s worth of recipes, like,, or They include healthy recipes that are easy to cook, along with a grocery list.

Or splurge a little and order a meal kit with all the food ingredients, like the one from Hello Fresh, Blue Apron, Sun Basket, Purple Carrot, Home Chef or Green Chef. Their fresh and many times organic ingredients are sent right to your door in planned out menus easy and quick for you to prepare right away and enjoy.

If you don't have the time for quick and easy meals, you can use services like Dream Dinners and Super Suppers, where you go and prep everything for up to a week or more and bring the ingredients home to freeze and use as needed.... super cool. Do a Bing or Google search and see if any are in your area.

Freeze left-overs to eat the next week, if you prefer.

Be sure to have your food defrosted ahead of time, like chicken, fish & meats.

Cook grains, like rice ahead of time and refrigerate for 3-5 days.

Chop your veggies ahead and store in a container in the fridge. This will work really well on your crock pot nights.

Make any marinades, dressings and sauces ahead of time.

Invest in a Pressure Cooker/Slow Cooker.

Even if you just plan out THREE of your meals each week, it will make a difference. You’ll feel healthier, less stressed and you’ll save yourself money.

When you do it on a regular basis it becomes so much faster and easier.
