WANT TO KNOW THE 5 WAYS TO NOURISH YOURSELF INSIDE?
Hello, Dyan here (The Health Coach Is In) to share some other ways to think about nourishing your body, mind and spirit.
Why am I even using the word NOURISHMENT if I'm not even talking about food?
That's a great question!
The reason I am using the word nourishment outside of its regular foodie context, is because we often find ourselves so over-focused on food that we forget about all the other simple and wonderful ways to nourish ourselves inside.
We forget that taking a walk in a forest with our dog is calming and rejuvenating. That lying on our beds listening to our favorite song is soothing and relaxing. And that feeling the breeze and sunshine from our window while taking a nap is so peaceful and warm.
That feeling of the grass tickling our feet as we watch the clouds drift by is as good as meditation!
We actually eat all day with our senses, and we consume our environment through TOUCH, FEEL, SOUND and SIGHT.
SO I WANT TO SHARE WITH YOU THE 5 WAYS TO NOURISH YOURSELF THAT YOU CAN START TODAY:
Seek out and nurture relationships with friends and lovers that make you feel good about YOU and say goodbye, adios and au revoir to the toxic ones that DON'T! Connecting with the right people will make it easier to maintain your healthy habits; like exercise, sleep, meditation. And you'll be more motivated to adopt other feel-good habits, too.
Remember that your environment affects your mood and energy. So if you are stuck in an office all day staring at a wall, it's time to kick off your shoes and run wild through a park, your backyard or the forest so you can feel the sunshine on your face and the breeze in your hair.
Eat your breakfast outside and add a walk to your lunch time.
We spend so much of our time alone at our computers or behind high walls and yet it's so important for our SPIRITS to make connections with others, so join a club or a class or an online Meet-up Group and start making new connections, today.
There is no way around it. There is just nothing quite like sleep to rejuvenate and restore all your body's SENSES for better functioning, so get 7-9 hours of beddy-bye, every evening, and wake refreshed and renewed.
Activities like dancing, gardening, golf, hiking, stretching, stair climbing, housework, yard work, playing with your kids or grandkids are all movement. And when you move your body in a way that you enjoy, your moods get mellow, your body gets stronger and your emotions get tamed.
