EAT WHAT'S RIGHT FOR 'YOU' AND EAT THE FOODS THAT MAKE YOU FEEL AWESOME!
I DON'T CARE what's trending or hot or highly recommended by the latest superstar or author. You are the "expert" on what you can eat.
Your friend, trainer or mom may swear up and down that unpasteurized dairy is the golden key to health, but if it makes you feel ill, PASS IT UP!
Same goes for animal protein. Some people swear you shouldn't eat it, but there's no need to feel guilty if you feel your best after eating a grass-fed burger or organic smoked turkey. Food should make you feel satisfied and energized, not sick and tired.
You're the expert on your body, truly you are. So continue exploring what methods and practices make you feel your best.
A FEW TIPS:
TRY TO MAKE THE MAJORITY OF THE FOODS YOU LOVE AND ENJOY TO HAVE JUST ONE INGREDIENT!
You heard me. One ingredient. What's in asparagus? Asparagus. What's in an orange? An orange. If most of your meals come from a box, a can or a sealed plastic bag, it's time to rethink your diet.
And go organic whenever you can. I'm sure if you had a dollar for every time you've heard this, you'd be reading my post from your private island in the Bahamas, but the point of eating organic is to avoid toxins, pesticides, growth hormones, antibiotics and herbicides that are found in conventional foods.
Every time we pick up a fork, we choose whether or not to put chemicals into our bodies and prevent getting sick from toxicity later on, so eat the foods you love but also keep you well.
At least try your best to go organic with the dirty dozen and I don't need to tell you which one's those are. (Okay, I'll remind you: bell peppers, peaches, apples, nectarines, strawberries, grapes, celery, cucumbers, snap peas, potatoes, spinach, cherry tomatoes), the fruits and veggies that harbor the most insecticides and pesticides.
Somewhere along the line we've gotten the idea that food shouldn't cost us much. But good, clean healthy food is perhaps the greatest investment you can make in your HEALTH and in your FUTURE.
SO WHAT I'M TRYING TO SAY; is there's NO diet out there that knows what's (exactly) right for you and your body. They should only be used as a guideline and then YOU decide what works best for you and makes you feel your best. Everybody needs to be on an individual diet that fits just THEM!
Whether you eat soy or beans or bison or turkey. Or follow Plant Based, Raw Foods, Dairy Free, Sugar-Free, Low Fat, Low Carb, Low Glycemic, Meal Replacement, Blood Type, South Beach or Whole30, it's really up to you and your body and your lifestyle. Only you know what foods or meals will satisfy you and give you the energy you need. No one else could possibly know this!
Your body knows WHAT and HOW much you need to eat! You just need to listen.
THE TRUTH IS.
We all come into this world with the knowledge of what to eat when we're hungry and how to stop when we're satisfied. But along the way many of us got disconnected and started eating for reasons other than hunger.
