The Foods That Give You ENERGY & The Foods That Don't!

THE FOODS THAT GIVE YOU ENERGY & FOODS THAT DON'T!
Enjoy the foods that "give you energy" and say no way to the foods that "take your energy away."
The more energy you have the better you will feel and the better you will be able to make more conscious choices for yourself in every AREA of your life.
SO WHAT ARE THE FOODS THAT GIVE YOU ENERGY?
Think about foods that bring you pleasure. What do you enjoy eating at a celebration? On vacation? At a summer barbecue? Think about what foods you like to prepare and what feels good in your body.
What are your most favorite foods to purchase at a grocery store? What do you look forward to eating throughout the seasons?
You probably already know some of the foods you eat that make your wise physique feel really good, but making a DAILY LIST of the foods that make you feel light, satisfied and 'oh so' marvelous, will get you to a place where you're tuned into you and your INTUITION for the foods that are fantastic and just right for you.
So start this week making your LIST of all the healthy, nourishing, high-vibe foods you know that make you feel great! Eat whatever foods you love that make you feel invigorated and then explore some new ones.
Maybe try a new recipe. See if any new foods or spices, like cilantro, turmeric, cloves or ginger you want to try give you the same energy as the ones you usually eat and make you feel terrific!
WHAT ARE THE FOODS THAT DRAIN YOU?
Sometimes the foods you LOVE the most may be the foods that don't love you back (indigestion, lightheadedness, wound up, headaches, brain fog). These are the foods you enjoy when you're eating them, but make you feel nauseous, sleepy or drained afterwards.
Get curious as to WHY you eat the foods that make you feel worst. Maybe it's when you're lonesome or bored or feeling frustrated or angry. Get curious to WHEN it is that you gravitate towards these low energy foods.
Is it when you're feeling rushed, overwhelmed or pressed for time? Or maybe their convenient and easy to grab when you're running out the door?
For most of us these kinds of foods give us comfort and make us feel (temporarily) better while eating them, but then we feel (crap-o-la) physically and emotionally later on.
Without judgment ask yourself, "Isn't it interesting that I'm choosing to eat this cheeseburger or chocolate cake or crackers & peanut butter when I know I'm NOT going to feel well after I eat it?"
It's not about being good or bad if you eat a food or down a drink that doesn't feel good to you. It's about making the choice of whether you want to FEEL GREAT or FEEL LOUSY after you eat that left-over pizza or dessert that drains you. These foods have made it clear; they don't want you in their clique anymore. So don't hang where your bodies not wanted.
Get yourself to a place where you know exactly which foods make you feel blah, heavy and drowsy. Start this week making that LIST of all the foods (healthy or not) that you enjoy but make you feel crummy after you eat them.
You most likely know quite a few of these foods too, but if any new foods you try make you feel lethargic, bloated, anxious or just off your game, push them aside! Don't be that person who chooses to eat foods that you know will cause you discomfort. IT'S JUST NOT WORTH IT!
Any foods you cut out because they drain you, is making a choice out of respect for YOU and your body. Listen to your body not your emotions, or what you think you 'should' have or 'should' do.
Be specific about how foods effect you, such as; gluten really upsets your stomach and anything sweet late at night gives you too much gas in the morning. You may feel different eating two slices of your favorite bread for breakfast versus one slice, or you may feel fine eating Goat cheese, but Gouda cheese makes you feel bloated and tired.
Ask yourself, "Will this food promote a big craving for sugar? Will it disrupt my sleep? Will it negatively impact my mood and focus? Will it trigger a migraine?
Over time you'll gain a better understanding of what foods (and in what amounts) really work well for you and make you feel refreshed and fortified and what foods definitely do not!
