HERE ARE 8 EASY STEPS TO A MINDFUL CHEF
Zen up with a few long, slow deep breaths.
Turn on some calming instrumental music or ambient sounds, like rainfall, ocean or a trickling river.
Grab your recipe ingredients and get cooking.
Be precise when measuring ingredients. This will enhance your FOCUS.
Take a look at the beautiful colors while you're cooking. What do you SEE?
As your food cooks, notice how the aroma changes. SMELL the deliciousness of the meal you are preparing.
From chopping to sizzling, notice the various sounds of your cooking. What do you HEAR?
A good chef always TASTES their food, as they cook. So have a taste. What is the texture that you feel? What does it really taste like to you? Is it yummy? Too salty? Too bland? Maybe crispy?
Use ALL of your senses while mindfully cooking and increase your creativity, create less stress and enjoy a more satisfying meal.
No matter how much you eat, unless you pay attention (mindfully), it will always feel like something is missing and you won't feel satisfied.
Give yourself a minute to truly appreciate what's on your plate. Maybe this is a cookie or half a cookie you're enjoying. Just make sure each bite is conscious, deliberate and worth it.
