NO MATTER "WHO" MENTIONS YOU COULD DROP A FEW POUNDS, DON'T DO IT SKIPPING MEALS (ESPECIALLY WHEN YOU'RE HUNGRY!)
Hello, Dyan here (The Health Coach Is In) to share with you a little tidbit about your hunger and why it's so important NOT to ignore it in hot pursuit to reach your body goal.
Because when you ignore your hunger, you're depriving your body of the fuel that it needs and setting yourself up for some out-of-control binges.
It's common for people to think that when they skip a meal, even when their body's signaling hunger, that they're saving calories, that they're losing weight.
WHAT HAPPENS THOUGH IS IT BACKFIRES!
By late afternoon or early evening, you're starving and then you feel like you have no willpower. Our body needs fuel in the form of food to function, so when it's deprived, it screams out for what it needs--- FOOD!!
When we skip eating when we're hungry, we send signals to our body to store calories!
So plan your meals and snacks out so they will be readily available when you're truly physically hungry. It's much easier to make unhealthy choices when you need to eat something NOW and you just grab the closest thing you can find or drive to.
While it's perfectly normal to put hunger on hold (now & again) when your schedule is bustling, you don't want to go too long. Your energy will go down, your thinking will get foggy and you can set off a ginormous binge!
So plan ahead and stash some of the healthy foods you like and love in your purse or backpack, so they will always be available when you can't get to food and you're really truly hungry. You'll notice a difference in how you feel and you'll usually end up eating FEWER calories during the day than you would have skipping your meals.
What can you do this week to be sure you don't skip your meal, especially when you're hungry?
